Get to Know Us

We are a small, family run, non profit, foster based dog rescue dedicated to providing the best possible care to the dogs who join us. Specialising in terrier, but we will help any breed big or small, providing the same outstanding level of care for all dogs that come into the rescue. Dogs join the rescue for a variety of reasons, and we aim to be there for them when no-one else is able to help.

On arrival they receive a full health check and any veterinary attention required, before settling into the daily routine for behavioural assessment. This allows us to get to know them before we begin any training or rehab work and finding them the perfect home to suit their individual needs.  We rehome UK wide to the right homes and provide rescue back up for the entirety of the dogs life.

DOG OF THE MONTH

Teddy, 2 year old lakeland terrier, originally arrived into the rescue after a breeder sold him under false pretences to the very wrong home. Teddys owners struggled with him for 2 years, his behaviour becoming progressively worse and reaching a point where they could no longer walk him and recognised he would do better in an experianced active home. Teddy arrived into rescue highly reactive, barking lunging, nipping. Upon an assessment with our resident well balanced dogs it was found that teddy is actually a very friendly boy who just has no idea how to interact with other dogs and he'd become very quickly frustrated due to his lack of social skills and clear boundaries.

After undergoing some rehabilitation work teddy has come on leaps and bounds, he is now able to keep his cool around the other dogs he lives with in his foster home, playing and running about respectfully with dogs of all age and size, he is able to pass other dogs calmly and focusing on his handler, recall away from his triggers, hes even been practicing saying a quick hello to suitable passing dogs.
